5.1 update lost speed up in the corner

Hello all, did the upgrade, re logged back in and started driving. First thing I notices is I lost the speed indicator up in the corner of the screen. Still there, just displays "0" all the time! Android phone, Galaxy S26.....20260523_190817.jpg

OK so being a route expert can you help me? MY GPS on my phone is working properly. All the other map programs work, myrouteapp works fine other than there is no speed indicator anymore. I post this as feed back so if other are having issues they can chime in. I don't even understand what you replied above, sorry but it doesn't make sense to me. The APP never crashes, there is just no speed displayed.

Create a ticket and include the logfiles, pressing long on the version nummer will create that.
Things you can try
Force a shutdown of the app., after you've obtained the logfiles. And even better restart your device.
Is your version 462, if not update

I have tried all of the above, yes version 5.1.0-462. Support ticket was created thanks for the help.

figured it out, they had me delete and redownload, went thru all permissions again, still didn't work. Ended up being something about the battery optimization. Everything works great now. I used Google AI walked me thru step by step.

How on earth does battery optimisation influence this?
Could you share what setting caused the issue? Because in my opinion this is something Android definitely should not impact.

Went to settings,myrouteapp,then battery, changed ot from optimized to unrestricted. Walked to my bike, turn by turn was back, speed indicator was back..

@Corjan-Meijerink In my search for for why I was having problems, I found out on an Android device (maybe Apple also but not sure).

Battery optimization directly restricts your phone's GPS and background processing to save power, which actively breaks real-time features on navigation apps like MyRoute-app.

I set it to unrestricted and everything worked 3 minutes later when I reached my bike. I am not sure if Android changed it when I did the update? I had the same phone and it was working fine until I did the update. Here are the symptoms I saw immediately after 5.1 update. I had no speed indicator at all, didn't even register. I thought this was the only issue. I created a ticket with MyRouteApp and was responded to, asking me to delete and re-downloaded and install so I did. Went thru all the permissions again. Jumped on the bike Monday morning and made a simple point A to point B route, where I already knew where I was going. I always set my first way point away from my house just in case my GPS is acting funny and needs time to catch up. When I crossed the first waypoint my planned route did not recognize it. I jumped on the freeway and noticed it was trying to re-route my back to waypoint #1. I also noticed the arrival time was not getting any lower, along with the gas stations were not changing distance. I also noticed I had no turn by turn directions. I could see my route on the map and it was guiding me with the colored line on the screen. This part was accurate. when I arrived at my destination I typed in an address of the next destination. I had the same results. Later in the day, I went into my saved routes and clicked on a ride I have already did. Same results. Came home did a little A.I. Google search which walked me thru checking a few things. Everything was correct except for that battery optimized thing. I hope this helps and I hope I was able to give you good feedback here. I really enjoy your product. I belong to a riders group and I am trying to get all the guys to subscribe to your app. I think it would make our riding a lot safer and more enjoyable. I am even going as far as having a training class to show them some of the tricks I have learned over the year!
