Protect pinch-zoom from destroying the user interface (iPad)
-
When editing a route on an iPad I instinctively do pinch-zoom to go into / out from a detail on the map. Occasionally this works but more often it zooms the entire browser instead of the map window so I just see a detail of the map (a bit pixelated) and all of myRouteApp’s controls are off screen. Frustratingly I then cannot get back because zooming back in just enlarges the map without ever giving me back any controls. To recover I can refresh the browser page but that also only works occasionally (sometimes it just refreshes the broken page).
Could it be fixed so pinch-zoom actually zooms just the map? I know there are + and - buttons, but pinching-zooming is such an intuitive iPad action that I keep doing it!
Or if that is an IOS limitation, could we have some simple way of recovering the page eg ensure that refreshing the browser page will always reset the zoom level to something usable?

Strangely I've discovered this problem is WAY worse when the map layer is Google Maps. OpenStreetMap seems to behave better. Perhaps this might give the developers a clue about why it happens and how to give us a reliable way to recover?
