Feature request – Navigation display & compass settings

Hello MyRouteApp team ,

First of all, thank you for the great work on the app, which I regularly use for route navigation (motorcycle).

I would like to suggest two possible improvements that could further enhance the navigation experience.

1. Additional information display in navigation mode

Would it be possible to display, just below the navigation arrow in route-following mode, the following information:

️ Street name

️ City

️ Altitude

This would improve situational awareness without leaving the navigation screen.

2. Default compass type setting

Add a setting to define the default compass mode, such as:

🧭 Fixed

Dynamic

🧭 North up

Currently, having to change this manually depending on the use case (motorcycle, car, off-road, etc.) can be inconvenient.

@Nico-Be I’m not exactly sure what you mean with your second question, but the icons for the compass mode already exist:

top-down view

dynamic view

north up

1. Streetname is already visible in the current GUI, Altitude is a much asked for feature, but "just for fun", there is no real navigational advantage to have it displayed. Although I would personally like that too

@Rob-Verhoeff, I think Nico is hinting at a feature to set a preset view per transport mode. Personally I think that would be overcomplicating things.
