Sharing via Dropbox

I am trying to share GPX files that I have saved to my laptop downloads folder. I copy them to Dropbox, file size etc seem in order. Send a link to others who then try to open it.
Instead of the route being 122 odd miles its like 2.
Back on my laptop if I import the route back in from the dropbox folder, it has the same very short route.
Is this an issue with file sharing software?

Are tou sure these routes and not tracks?
Btw, why don't you open an event, put the routes in the events, your friends can get the route directly from the event, when they are logged in.

Can you provide us the link to that .gpx file please. Then we can check ourselves what goes wrong.But as @Lex.Kloet.RX suspects already, it does kinda sound like the .gpx file is a track...
