Any chance we could get a (border control icon
) and a Supermarket icon
)
Cheers

Border control is not really needed when you only travel in the EU as ling you have open borders.
Supermarket icon... I don't see the benefit of that.
Maybe others do, might be an useful addition.

Coming from a prospective of a motorcycle rider doing a day trip, nah, indeed, simply using the lunch icon would imho also suffice.
However, thinking a bit more out of the box: from an i.e. RV perspective doing a humongous holiday trip, moving from destination to destination, a supermarket icon that indicates where to load supplies would definitely be useful.
A border icon for that matter can also be useful to that same kind of user category
, especially considering the fact that the user base of MRA is vastly extending beyond the EU.

Not everyone travels only in EU. MRA is an international product with users worldwide.
Besides that, some people like to know when they cross a border, even if they are open.
Especially since in the EU we have open borders (although some seem to want to close them...) the smaller border crossing roads often are not showing the border very clearly. In such a case it can be meaningful to add a sign while planning.I am not really waiting for such a sign personally, but sometimes it is worthwhile to empathize with another person's situation.

even within the EU many of the old border control posts still exist, so they are a feature on the road even if they are now mostly unattended & not in use
I actually mark border crossings with a warning waypoint with text telling me of its imminent arrival
I find it is not unusualΒ to find police vehicles lurking around border crossingsΒ even if there is no passport or immigration control -
Also isn't there a border between Croatia and Bosnia.
Bosnia and Serbia.
Serbia and Romania?
Also Montenegro, Albania. -
I can see that a "store" icon can be helpfull.
Not special a supermarket icon, but a store in general. But for bordercrossing or other special places I would place a "warning" icon with text in it.
And normally i place it a couple kilometers before the actual crossing because you never know what is waiting in front of you :D. -

And a toll gate icon would be handy too

As an avid geocacher, I have applied long time ago for a Geocaching Icon. Unfortunately, it does not seem to be possible.

simply using the lunch icon would imho also suffice. The food icon is a sandwich. You have no idea what my tour friends would say if I told them we were having a sandwich for lunch. The classic βknife and forkβ icon is more appropriate.

A knife and fork would assume I'm a modern age developed person using cutlery to eat lunch, and would therefore not be inclusive to the neanderthal caveman which is what I consider myself to be... Sometimes, I even go as far as to kill my sandwhich before I devour it with my bare hands and getting the excess saucy smudge all over my bare chest... Aaaarrggh...
All joking aside, I would consider changing the current lunch or food icon for that matter, to a knife and fork symbol to be a utter waste of valuable resources haha. Are we gonna request to change the coffee icon to an George Clooney (n)espresso, latte macchiato, or even americano for that matter just to suit all different aspects of each culture around the world?

klok
groep
brandstof
laadpaal
uitzichtpunt
camera
werkzaamheden
waarschuwing
veerpont
offroad

We can "argue" about that too. I think refueling (fuel) has everything to do with stopping. I still can't refuel while driving. A historical landmark, on the other hand, doesn't always require me to stop!
Still, it's a fun discussion
