Automatically skipping waypoints (shaping points) issue
-
I have my "Skip waypoints automatically" setting turned on, however the MRA app is still forcing me to manually skip shaping points if I bypass them. I am running the Android version 4.3.8-386 on a DMD T685X tablet in offline mode, and I have "Automatic recalculations" turned off. I also have "Navigate routes as tracks" turned off.
Any idea of why I'm having to manually skip bypassed shaping points? Since I'm wearing gloves each time this happens I have to stop, remove my gloves and skip the shaping point.
Thanks,
Steve

@Steve-Jarrell are you sure your waypoints are exactly on the road ? Zoom in as much as you can and see that the exact location of the waypoints is on the road/route line.

@Steve-Jarrell I don't have these issues: Skipping waypoints works pretty well for me. Unfortunately I have no idea what your problem might be. Have you checked Adrians idea?

@Adrian-Avram Yes. After finishing my preliminary route in the online route planner, I meticulously check each and every shaping and via point by zooming in on the first one then advancing one by one moving them if they're even a little off the road, near an intersection, etc. I also add shaping points wherever I see that the GPS may try to go a faster or shorter way than what I have planned to force it to use my route.
I use a lot of shaping points to ensure that my route is followed exactly and that it's duplicated as closely as possible when I transfer it to my Garmin XT that my brother is using on this trip.
Even if the shaping points aren't exactly on the road and I bypass them, shouldn't MRA just skip them and move on to the next one?
I didn't notice this using the iOS version and Apple CarPlay so I wonder if it's an issue with the Android version of MRA?
Thanks,
Steve
