If you know how to use a soldering iron, a do-it-yourself construction might be an option. Have a look for BarButtons and/or Motobuttons.

The topic of controllers is something i have recently been looking into myself. There are some YouTuber's who have pretty good experiences with the budget controllers. I was very tempted for the low investment of 15 euros but after investigating further, had a change of mind. This one in particular caught my attention and is a good demo. https://youtu.be/Xnb5I7xKenI?si=4tSeusGI7tVs4dld

@Jörgen i am not so good with electric soldering. i will look a little more on youtube and maybe i can find an instruction. but if there is on aliexpress an item that is plug and play it would also be nice. i will search more.

@Bouke-Ent Just be sure to pick a waterproof one, as that video suggests!
This one seems to have OK-ish reviews:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/TUNAI-Button-Media-Remote-Control-Black/dp/B07JQ8Q6X6(I'm not endorsing it, I'm just saying it has more than 5 reviews, and they aren't all 1 star.
)
Those Bluetooth media controllers are so common that maybe MRA could create a mapping within the app since the buttons are pretty standard (+/- is up/down, rewind/fast forward is left/right, etc).
Then you wouldn't need the Key Mapper app either. -
Topic-kick...
I have an alie BT controller, buttonmapper app on the phone. Mapped the prev-next buttons to - and +.
They do work as expected in here: https://jaxeadv.com/barbuttons/keypress-tester/They also work perfectly in Osmand.
I cannot get them to work in the mra nav app. I have tried all input settings but none seem to work.
Any ideas?? -

Any ideas??@Nico-10 Hi, I tried for testing a normal BT keyboard and this works for MRA, when you type (or use) the up, down, left and right button, the plus and minus for zoom, C center and all others.
Try your controller with a note app and see what letter is typed. -

Well, I do have it working now. I mapped the keys like in the table for the Carpe Iter BMW control and also choose that is input in the MRA app and now it works!

@Nico-10 I use the BarButtons.
Have a look under Support and search for Bluetooth controller, here you can find any information which setting is used.
