terug komend probleem Auto android / Stroomverbruik onacceptabel

Net weer terug uit de Prachtige Eifel en daar in het hotel meerdere personen gesproken die Rma gebruiken voor het plannen van de routes.
Maar die ook tegen het volgende probleem aan liepen en dan voor al het Hoge stroom verbruik van de Navigatie App als negatief ervaarden.

ik zelf heb weer meerdere keren het probleem gehad dat het Scherm bevroren is na een pauze moment .( was niet eens een lange pauze dit keer even een paar minuten wachten op een mede motorrijder door een stoplicht )
Eigenlijk was alleen de Map Bevroren want deze liet niets zien terwijl de aanwijzingen aan de linkerzijde wel door gaan.

Dit in combinatie met het onacceptabele hoge energie verbruik ( Na 2 uur navigeren is al ongeveer 40% van de accu verbruikt terwijl hij ook nog eens op stroom is aangesloten)
Roaming uit gezet ,Offline geprobeerd te navigeren het maakt helaas allemaal niets uit .

Je kunt door dit Probleem dus niet eens een Rit volledig navigeren met Rma op je mobiel wat toch erg jammer is !!!

Maar onder de 30 procent stap ik toch echt over naar een andere Navigatie app om er zeker van te zijn dat ik in geval van Nood mijn telefoon nog kan gebruiken.( Samsung s24 )

laten we hopen dat dit probleem nu toch eens heel snel Serieus op gelost gaat worden!
want dit is toch wel een behoorlijke domper op deze verder prima Navigatie App
Op het navigeren zelf heb ik echt helemaal niks aan te merken dat gaat prima .

Los van het hoge stroomverbruik, lijkt het erop dat je via je carpuride gebruik maakt van Android auto.
Als dat zo is, heb je dan het scherm van je telefoon uit. In mijn geval blijft de telefoon op zwart en aan de lader wel op spanning

@Marinus-van-Deudekom ik heb nog steeds mijn telefoon aanstaan omdat niet alles wordt doorgegeven op het auto android scherm door beperkte mogelijkheden van Google .

@Erik-35 inderdaad de telefoon geeft nog meer informatie maar het is voor mij voldoende op het AA scherm

Bij mij exact hetzelfde, MRA op deze manier niet bruikbaar. Heb je nog tips omtrent een alternatief, ik gebruik als back-up TOMTOM.

@Erik-35 wait until you happen to be in an area with an ambient temp of about 25 degC or higher...the iPhone goes into battery/cool down protect mode, and if it doesn't completely shut down, the screen goes so dim, the only thing that can be done is put the phone away as navigation is not possible because the screen cannot be seen. Extremely dissapointing and unfortunate.

I also experience a huge consumption when running MyRoute-App Navigation, but on my iPhone and it does not make a remarkable difference if I use CarPlay or not. I can put my phone on a wireless charger with a magnetic holder or I can put a wired charger on. Both charging options can merely charge and the consumption is slightly higher. The only difference is with wireless charging my iPhone can be used to fry eggs so hot it gets. I wish the power consumption could be optimized or minimized.

@Cookie-On-Tour nailed it.....and because of it, I cannot use the nav app. I stay in tune with the forum in the 'off' chance a breakthrough occurs - so far - absolutely nothing.

@GT-JWR I saw a note somewhere that the power consumption comes from using the HERE maps and as the MyRoute Navigation App is based on that map, there is nothing that can be done so far.
However, I question myself with this, how is the power consumption with other apps also based on the HERE map, I might have to search for a different nav app based on HERE too, to see if I see the same power consumption there. Do you know such a third party app?

@Cookie-On-Tour the Scenic app also uses HERE maps, and on a 10 day, 4000mi trip, where 2 people were using it, no such issue existed.

I am by no means a techinical expert in the operating systems of MRA vs Scenic, however, it sounds like there is a different algorithym between the two - is this the difference - I do not know. I've also read reports where the HERE We Go nav app suffers the same fate.

Until this issue is resolved, it renders the Nav app un useable for me because of the extreme battery degredation, the extreme heat generated by the phone continually trying to keep up the quick discharge, AND the issue is exacerbated by high ambient temps outside - for me, once the ambient temp is ~25 degC (80DegF), the phone goes into self preservation mode, and, well, end of Nav app.

@GT-JWR same here, I use the phone also to take photos when I stop at a viewpoint, but then the camera app warns that the iPhone is too hot and needs to cool down until I can see the camera app.

Same here, Samsung S24 Ultra and Mazda CX30 2024. When it works, it almost never do, only small rectangle in the upper left corner with minimal information, I experience a very high battery consumption. MyRoute app is useless in the car with Android Auto.
