Waypoints not transferring onto Zumo XT
-
Hi Folks, I am often creating routes which include waypoints and important information such as fuel stops, camp grounds POI etc but nearly every time I transfer the file to my Zumo XT the waypoints are not transferred as well. Could you please view my 'Pheenys Camp Ground via Bellboard Road to Aboriginal Rockholes South" public shared route and advise if there are any errors (such as too many shaping points or waypoints etc which is causing this issue). I feel extremely frustrated that I spend hours creating detailed routes in MRA which include important waypoints or POI and the system will only transfer as a track and the waypoints appear to be missing. Thanks for your help :).

@Tony-Mills of you copy the url of that route here we'll give it a go for shure

@Marinus-van-Deudekom I think this is the route in question https://www.myrouteapp.com/route/open/9615976
Hi @Tony-Mills, the route looks like an interesting little trip & fine to me, certainly not to many points, I regularly plan routes with >100 points
The Zumo XT does have a limit of 29 Via points + I think the beginning & end Via points, so max 31
As far as I know the Zumo XT has no limit on the number of shaping points between Via points
MRA has a limit of 200 points per route (dismally low IMO)
You are nowhere near these limitsCould you advise how are you transferring the route from MRA to the Zumo XT, there are multiple methods & they can often produce different outcomes?

@Tony-Mills And when you publish your link here, don't forget to set your route to 'public' (else no one can help you).

@Brian-McG hi it doesn’t seem to Benthe route itself. The next question would be how do you transfer the route. With the Drive app, using the connector. Witch type of export do you use. If you use the 1,2 export only the viapoints (hands) Will show up on your XT
If You you use 1.1 all points are transférés but only the via points are calédoniens Out
Let me know -
@Marinus-van-Deudekom @Brian-McG @Rob-Veerman Thanks so much for your responses, the link to my route as shown by Brian is correct. Thanks for putting the route on display.
I create the route and use the Export to Device, MyRoute App Connector and select Garmin Zumo (GPX 1.2), connect the device and press Export to Device. Sometimes the device will present a pop up box stating "The track violates routing restrictions for driving on roads. Calculate an alternative route to avoid restrictions?" If I select No, the result matches the track (without the Waypoints and POI's). Selecting Yes abandons the track completely and routes somewhere else. Is it this that is causing me all the issues? A setting in the XT perhaps? I'm grateful for your advice as this has been frustrating me for months. Cheers, Tony -
@Tony-Mills hi Tony
The only restriction that I keep active on my XT is avoid dirt Roads. I make shure that the route in MRA Goes as I want it to. If You do it like this your problem is gone. With the 1.2 export the result on your XT is that track is exported to your XT together with all via points (hands) All shapingpoints will not be exported but the track is. In this way the route Goes exactly as you planned it.. I use this méthode myself and that works perfect.
Extra tip
Make sure that all your shapingpoints and via point are ON the route. I sam that a couple of them were beside the road. I know that the XT is tricky with those Off route point and can easily f…up your route Good luck -
@Marinus-van-Deudekom Hi Marinus, I always export using 1.2. Most of my riding here in Australia is dirt roads and tracks. If I activate my XT to avoid dirt roads I'm guessing this could cause conflicting issues? What are your thoughts? Cheers Tony

@Tony-Mills in that case I would select none
