      had to revert to tomtom today in scotland, i was in a poor signal area, i have all the uk maps downloaded and the routes diwnloaded. When resuming navigation from a service station, i kept going round in circles withe attached messages. Spent 20 minutes toggling both the mra offline/online settings in combination with the phones internet (was reporting 4g but browser speed test very slow) connection and toggling airplane mode. I just could not get it to load, i was giving all the settings a fair chance afaik. Any advice,, surely a downloaded route with downloaded maps should work?? “No internet connection could not calculate route go offline” followed by “ “offline navigation enabled no route could be calculated go online”…any tips please .. no

        @big-vern I had about the same in Germany and Spain. The offline modus is less smart and I lost track. The system switches over to online by itself but often it cant get back on track. Then it is good to be with friends with a Garmin or Tomtom device.

        I am sorry I can't help you, but only conform what you wrote.

          So the app automatically goes to offline mode if no internet is available but it needs it to recalculate. After doing so, it will attempt to go back online as that is the preference of the user.

          What we recommend is to simply turn on the offline mode (Navigation settings > Functional) to ensure it stays offline at all times. Then the app will never go online 😉 This is the best advice I can give.

            @Corjan-Meijerink thanks, thats how i would expect and want it to work, but that is what i tried, hence the reason for the post (along with toggling the phone into airplane mode, restarting app etc) i was already aware if the offline setting from the webinar. It was def stuck in loop with those messages alternating. It was a poor reception area, but the phone was reporting 4g, hence could it confuse the app, despite the app being in offline. I was still getting messages to go online despite having downloaded the entire uk and the route. Not an expert of any kind in sat nav but work in it so systematically webt through all the options i could think if to no avail

              @big-vern same problem reported here

              Offline mode useless if you need to be online to calculate a route against an offline map

                @big-vern is it possible you are following a track and not a route? My understanding is that you have to be online for tracks. Routes can be started and navigated offline.

                  @big-vern I had the same trouble. Now if I have a track I convert it with "route lab" to a route. Set you're maps to here maps. Offline works well and you don't need to go on line.

                    @Adam-Collier-0 quite, its a deal breaker for me if there is no fix, frustrating when you really want it to work but the core ability to actually use it off line doesn’t work. Tomtom offline was fine.

                      @big-vern yes I agree can't be so hard I think to just let you see the track without navigation and. Dmd2 has a perfect track navigation but then you take another yearly payment again.
