Hi from Germany

Hi all,
I've just started using MyRoute-app and I'm really impressed so far. I had been using Calimoto but it can be a frustrating app at times. I'm looking forward to trying the app on my bike when the weather permits. Planing routes is so easy now. Thanks.
I'm a Brit living near Wegberg, Germany, and I ride a grey 2023 Honda NT1100 DCT. This year I'm off for a long weekend in the Thüringer Wald, a week down to Lake Garda, a week to Scotland, and two weeks at the end of August - destination still to be decided.
Wishing you all the best for 2024,
Doc -
hi @Doc-Holliday welcome to the MRA family, lots of help on the forum if needed

@Doc-Holliday Welcome to the forum

@Doc-Holliday Welcome to MRA. I'm German and live near Southampton in UK
Maybe MRA will cross our path/road one day. I do ride at least once a year in Germany (I miss my bakeries). -
Welcome to the forum @Doc-Holliday

Hi Doc,
Welcome neighbor and greetings from Korschenbroich!
I use MRA for long time for planning with a TomTom Rider and since April last year on an Android Outdoor tablet. -
@Doc-Holliday Welcome in the MRA community. I was using calimoto as a licensed user. Now I prefer MRA (lifetime user) and will discard the calimoto license.
In addition to the mobile navigation I have a TomTom Rider on board. The combination with MRA is wonderful. As MRA develops more and more it converges to a good and coequal tool.
The sole disadvantage is the functionality of a mobile phone as compared to the optimized hardware of a special navigation (sensitivity of the screen with gloves). But this has nothing to do with MRA.

@Doc-Holliday Welcome Doc. Now the only thing you have to do is change your Avatar or else Wyatt Earp is coming to get you!

@Doc-Holliday your welcome

Many thanks to you all for the warm welcome.
I'm sat at home waiting for the snow to clear so I can ride my first route. I think I'll move from the smart phone Calimoto app (subscription cancelled) to a Garmin Navigation Zumo XT2, and use the MyRouteApp for route planning. Using just GPS on downloaded maps is better than relying on an internet connection, and Calimoto offline maps are not working well. I'm looking forward to my trips this year.
Cheers, Doc -
@Doc-Holliday Hi Doc, during my trip RdGA this year I figured, that offline navigation with MRA works well. You have to download the offline maps prior to do an offline navigation.
I also cancelled my calimoto subscription some days ago and will focus on MRA. Much better!
On my bike I have a TomTom Rider, which works very well and is a good combination to MRA. In the midterm view I will drive solely with MRA.
Best, Axel

@Jörgen Hi, you are not far away. We should go for a ride when the weather picks up a bit. You can't beat the pulled-port at the https://www.thunderbike-roadhouse.de/ in Hamminkeln. Doc

Welcome and many greetings,
