    I really would like make a 100% post one day, unfortunately that day hasn't come yet.

    I have no voice prompts, they are turned on and volume is turned up. I have plotted five routes in Spain and Portugal I have completed two of them with no prompts

    Another strange problem has shown up. When I click on Start to begin navigating the route it offers is not identical to the one I have plotted. Unfortunately I can't work out how to add a screen shot to this post using my phone

    I would dearly love to recommend the app to people but at the moment I can't.

      @Roger-Doidge to add a photo or screenshot to a post you need to select the icon to the right of the emoji icon, this may mean that you need to slide the icons along to uncover it.

        @Roger-Doidge, on rare occasion I have had no voice too, on Android. A force quit and restart always solved that. I have not been able to pinpoint under what circumstances this happens.

        I am not affiliated with MyRoute-App. The help I am offering is entirely voluntary.
        I am just an enthusiastic user, and hope you will be one too!

        Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebar to the saddle.

          Here are two screenshots. The first one is the route I plotted and the second is the route that appeared when I clicked start. As you can see it's not the exact route I wanted to follow.
          How can this happen?

            @Roger-Doidge A single way point between the start and finish over 700Km gives the routing engine plenty of scope to change the route on the fly.

            The route engine has satisfied your single way point, so the rest of the route can deviate depending on traffic conditions, road closures, etc.

            If you add more waypoints, you'll have more success in keeping to the route you want.

            {EDIT: the other thing that might affect the routing is using two different routing engines. If you're using the MRA app for navigation, you want to use HERE in the planning phase too, so the two match.)

              @Roger-Doidge @richtea999

              Richtea is right. One waypoint on a route of 720 km gives the certainty that the navigation tool will deviate. What you may try to correct that (i never tried ot but i think it should work)

              Open the route in the planner, in the menu click on toolkit, in toolkit click on expand. You will get a pop up asking how many waypoints you want to add along the road. First so you

              This will make the planner add additional waypints along the route.

              Careful: i never tried this. I would advise taking a copy of the originAl route first so can turn back if my suggestion causes problems

                @Drabslab the expand works well and places the new waypoints on the route.

                  Unfortunately, that is simply not correct!

                  See my screenshot below for WP2, you need to check every single “Expanded” Waypoint for accuracy!

                      @Lynchy67 if that minor variance as shown on your screen shot is going to cause problems then there is a defect in navigation. Being slightly off the route line with no other roads around can't possible be an issue. Perhaps MRA needs to implement a "snap to" feature if alignment is that critical.

                        @Doug-Robinson

                        I have been with MRA (and Tyre before that) from the start and all the info I have been given over these years has been that the waypoints should always be placed exactly on the Route line.
                        I do this with expanded routes a lot and have never had issues with an expanded route.
                        I will stick with ensuring that all expanded waypoint are exactly on the route line.

                        I do like your suggestion regarding a Snap-To function so I will suggest that when we switch to updating the Route Planner

                        You don’t stop riding when you get old, you get old when you stop riding.

                          @Doug-Robinson, That minor variance as shown in the screenshot is definitely NOT a problem. The variance caused by the expand feature can however be bigger than shown, and sometimes they can get placed at unlucky places, like the crossings a few meters to the left. Then it can definitely cause problems...

                          I never use the expand feature. I place waypoints with my own logic. That seldomly fails me 😉

                          Yes, they need to be checked, and then you may as well put them on route, and far enough from any crossings or sideroads, in the proces.

                          To both: That snap is a great idea. If you look closely, that is already what is happening. Where the WP snaps to the route, you can see a little black dot. Problems occur at crossings, where the WP can snap to too many roads. Therefore it is important to check your waypoints.

                            @Doug-Robinson If I recall correctly a while back there was function in the toolkit to align waypoints to the roads. I can’t recall what this function was called and it disappeared from the menu at some point, but it would be useful to reinstate it.

                              I believe that functionality was in the old Navigation App where you could plot a route directly in the App and it would Snap to the Route Line.
