Begoning of the route
-
When starting a route, it will be better to have as preset THE CLOSES POINT instead of THE BEGINNING OF THE ROUTE
-
This post is deleted! -
That is already possible, but maybe not exactly as you'd expect it to be.
You can join a route (and a Route-Track) at any point on your Route.
So you drive to the "Closest Point" then open the route and "Long Press" the Waypoint you want to start at.
So if it happens to be Waypoint 22 then Waypoints 1 to 21 are ignored. -

- Open route
- 'Navigate' (now all the waypoints are visible)
- long press the waypoint you want to start from
- route now alters to show the route to the revised starting point, and also the rest of the trip
- 'Start'
-
Or place the starting point NOT in front of your house but ±50m away from it, in the direction you want to drive the route! This way you don't have to skip the first waypoint
-
@richtea999 this looks to me the closest to the desired way of working of topicstarter. Just tried it and that seems to work.
Although I can also relate to topic starter that he wants that. That was also my first thought. -
@richtea999
If you look at the opening post he is interested in starting the route from the “closest point” to him rather than the start of the route.
That’s how I interpreted it. -

That’s how I interpreted it.Ah - got you! In other words MRA needs to calculate the nearest point on the route (not necessarily a waypoint), rather than the user manually examining the map. Understood. My mistake.
So it might be described as:
- I've got lost, but I'd like to try and reset with the least loss to my carefully planned route.
-
I can’t speak for @antonio-castello but have you never started a route in the middle of it instead of at the start?
Maybe the OP was a bit stretched for time so started the route mid way.
I do it all the time.
There is no mention by the OP of being lost? -
@richtea999 I don't think getting lost is the primary use case here. As @Lynchy67 says, it may just be you don't want to go the added distance of going to the starting point. The route may be one you've picked up from elsewhere, which is why it doesn't have a completely suitable starting point. Or you may simply have to restart/reload the app (for whatever reason) somewhere along the way and you just want to pick up where you left off.
