No doubt this is user error (better known as stupidity) but…..
-
I created long 160 mile route across France, using one stat point (the hand symbol), one end point (again, a hand symbol) and shaped it with say 10 intermediate shaping points, so that the route took the roads I wanted to use.
I then used the MyRoute function to add more shaping points, using the Toolkit’s Expand function, extending the number of shaping points to say, 25, giving a shaping point roughly every 6 miles. I checked that each of the app’s 15 created shaping points was correctly placed on the road.
Everything worked fine, until halfway round, when I stopped the route.
When I downloaded the route again, I went to start running it but the only choice I could find was to stat from point 1 (the start point hand). I then did what I guessed was a logical thing, I tapped in the upper right corner of the screen and asked it to skip point one. That was OK, except that it now routed me to what was originally point 2. I had to keep deleting all the points that were behind me, before the route stopped trying to take me backwards first.
I am sure this is stupid user error on my part!
My question therefore is:
How do I summon a route from my library and run it from halfway, without having to first delete shaping points that are behind me?
Thank you for your help.

Long press the waypoint you want to start from.
In this example I am starting from Waypoint 32.
Waypoints 1 to 31 are ignored. Here you can see the start point is now Waypoint 32

Thank you.
I was sure that there had to be an easy answer. Equally, I was sure I had read a solution before. But, in a cafe, in pouring rain in northern France yesterday, I couldn’t think of what it was.
I just used my XT instead….. a terrible thing to admit.
I have just tried it, sitting at home in London, picking a point in France from yesterday’s route. It works perfectly.
It possibly also explains why MyRoute suggests using the ‘More’ feature to add more shaping points, maybe one every 5km. It would make choosing a point on the route to start from easier.
Great forum help, really appreciated.
