@Jack-van-Tilburg Hi Jack, I still have BC on a 10 inch Windows tablet, which I always took with me on multi-day trips. It works, but then you've said it all. I have not used the tablet since 2015 The use of waypoints in MRA is great if you worked with waypoints in BC, and if you use the break times you'll end up with the planned time nicely (in my case anyway)

@Jack-van-Tilburg, @Tim-Thompson and @David-Skinner, I could suggest to ask in a google forum to implement GPX export, but... MyRoute-app taught me that there are MANY flavors of gpx files.

Thanks for the route. Now i regonise it, in the summer i wanted to take a hotel near the endpoint but i decide diverent. Maybe comming late springbrake it will be a nice place to visit. I see you took the trip via Italie and then Slovenia, i leaved this out in the first place because i didn't know how much time the OP had.

Het heeft ook met nog veel meer factoren te maken. Namelijk de software instellingen waarmee de tijd wordt berekend. Maar ook hoe actueel de kaarten zijn. Ik heb voorbeelden gezien waarbij Here over een bepaalde route er 2 keer zo lang over deed als Openstreetmap, Tomtom of zelf Google. oorzaken: Een nieuwe weg die veel korter is en Here nog de omweg neemt. Here kaarten die aangeven dat een weg onverhard is terwijl het al wel verhard is. Als je dan "onverharde wegen vermijden" instelt wordt er weer omgereden. Een klein bergweggetje dat opgewaardeerd is tot een grote doorgaande route. Tomtom en Open Streetmap wisten dat al wel, maar Here niet. Daar krijg je enorme verschillen in tijd. Tomtom nam vroeger bv. voor een bepaalde weg altijd de max snelheid minus 10km/h. Voor een stoplicht of een bocht wordt er een bepaalde tijd of snelheid genomen. De drukte van de weg wordt ingeschat. Dit soort parameters veroorzaken ook (soms grote) verschillen in de routetijd.

@Carlo-Baronchelli I give two thumbs up for this idea. It is not only a pain on the toosh in the route planner on the PC to add a waypoint in the middle of the route, THAT IS NOT ON THE CURRENT ROUTE. Even bigger pain is when you do it on the phone or the tablet in the middle of the ride; finding the waypoint list, drugging the waypoint, I am too old for that...

Thanks Timo, I've done much of what you recommend already. I've also researched some of the guided tour routes borrowing some of their destinations and routes. When I put a route together, Ill share here and of course update after I get back safely. Regards, Jim

@Hubert-Thoring Ja, bald wird es nur noch eine App geben, mit der man Routen erstellen und navigieren kann. Sowohl im Auto, auf dem Motorrad, im Wohnmobil, auf dem Fahrrad und zu Fuß.

@Nick-Carthew When I go to this website and choose Routes I'll find a public directory, when I follow the path I endup to the desired file(route). When I klik on the file I' m asked to login to MRA which doesn't work. Thanks to your (Hans & Nick) hints I rightklik on the file and open in a new screen the file opens. Thanks for your help. @Skellum Yes, the Here map shows a break in the route at Waypoint 40 and 41. Tom Tom and OSM however allows the route through. This is not a route I have driven myself I just found a GPX on the the web to demonstrate Uploading for @Martin Proudlove. Definately a route I will be doing at some point however.
