Over the years, many riders may collect lot of own planned routes or collected tracks and keep it in folder structure. If you ride a lot and want to reuse existing routes/tracks, it becomes more and more difficult to find it - sometimes in area "Routes" but sometimes in area "Track". I know to use the search function, but sometimes it's not helpful. On the other hand, I often ride offroad by collected gpx files (tracks). Because of offroad - for which, navigation isn't possible - Offroaders are used to navigate by trackline overlay on map. So, I don't transform such tracks to routes. I'm asking, if Routes/Tracks are organised in folders by each user individually - would it be good enough, if they are all in one area? Would it make development more easy? And for search - would it be helpful to have additional filters in the column header? At least, it would be more than helpful, if we would get an additional field in Tracks and Route-Tracks to enter info/description (like in Routes). The icing on the cake would be if the search function also took this field into consideration.

@Brian-McG and @Brett-Bartick and @M.-Schrijver, to add to the confusion I recently learned that since some recent version low resolution tracks are being included to routes. So, my previous claim from about half a year a go is not really valid anymore. Fact is that nowadays, when navigating "track-as-route", you indeed get a track that should look like it was originally planned, instead of being calculated at the time of starting it in navigation. Personally I indeed saw an increase of sync-time that could be explained by this, but I have no clue as to when that started.

Just incase anyone is interested, my latest work around is to use Google's mymaps, to overlay annotation on a google maps background with goolemaps functionality. You can share the overlay with others. I've added a screenshot of the overall, plus a couple of 'zoom ins'. Note you can add information to the points, if you look at the ferry port icon that I added, I have been able to link to the ferry sailings schedule. All useful stuff in the early stages of planning, especially if sharing. It's a shame that I can't select the overlay to be visible when planning on myrouteapp. To do it this way would make implementation easier. Hello all and sorry for the delay, I was on vacation. We put a little over 2200 miles on in a week. I used MRA all week long and I give it a 90% on performance. I use my phone for the GPS, and yes I place the route points myself. I Like MRA because it allows me to ride the roads I want to take. I have a Garmin in my truck, and my gf has an Iphone. Neither one of these devices show me 10-15 miles away from my home. Also when I use my phone with Google maps it shows me at my home. It only seems to be the MRA app, not sure why. I have also noticed on vacation (we used off line maps due to service issues in the mountains) the arrow strays off the map a lot! When we were on the backroads it did pretty good and kept us on track, in the mountains...WHOO! that thing was all over the place and not giving us accurate directions. I did notice if I use the plus and minus button and scrolled out on the screen it seemed to lock on a little better, but still not great. This could also be a altitude issue? We were high in the Smokie Mountains. I would like to see a feature where if your using off line maps the arrow defaults and sticks to the pre programed route (like my Garmin does).

I had already complained about this issue before, as I am used to other apps where you can search for a point/address without having to add it to the route straight away or first have to laboriously turn it into a POI, which is actually undesirable. Brian's answer showed me the way to the solution. I activated the ‘Ask for waypoint name’ and ‘Place waypoint button’ options. Now, when I search for a point, it is displayed on the map and a window appears at the top for naming this point as a waypoint. I click it away and now have the point I was looking for in front of me without it being added to the route. The ‘Place waypoint button’ option displays a destination marker. If, after checking, I do want to add it to the route, I simply click on the Place waypoint button, the above-mentioned window reappears and I can name it and add it to the route. For me, this is a really good way to do it.

I can understand your wish, but….. if you would place those POI’s automaticly you have realy not a clue if lets say a lunchroom is open.

Especially if you're looking at areas you're unfamiliar with, it becomes difficult to even find them. How do I find them? Wouldn't it be helpful to have a tooltip that gives me the name when I hover over the track (like it does when I click on the number because there are multiple routes in the area)?
