@Guzzist which controller do you use with MRA and DMD2?
I'm using Remote-2 controller, because:
it's small enough to place device between left handlebar and bikes switch element. So I'm able to operate by my thumb both, the remote controller and the switches like turn indicator comfortably.
I'm riding often offroad rallyes and navigate by "Rallye Road Book". The DMD device is able to operate that PDF files, and populated it on the screen. By the remote controller the descriptions in this files can be moved line by line over the screen. On such bumpy roads, it's difficult to hit the needed button on the controller correctly. The metallic 2-way switch for this at the Remote-2 controller, supports this in best way. Other controllers with knobs or 4-way mini joysticks are not suitable.
The Remote-2 controller can be connected be cable (pug&play) to the pre-configured cable harness with the DMD devices. Which makes it very easy and reliable. It can also be connected by Bluetooth; but I fear more issues with Bluetooth, because I have also connected my Headset to the DMD devices as well as my mobile phone. I was happy to could establish a reliable connection to Headset and mobile phone after long try and error phase. I don't need more risks.
But the perfect situation is currently only for the DMD devices and running the DMD2 app! The MyRoute-App is still not supported by DMD Remote controller (and vice versa). Means: the 2-way switch - responsible for zoom in- and out in map, is not working in MyRoute-App. There you need to use the 4-way mini joystick for zooming - which is not secure enough during offroad riding.
I'm in hope, this will be fixed by MyRoute-App developers soon. But overall the use of MyRoute-App on DMD devices is possible and works great.
