Rotterdam to Switzerland
-
Hello all, I'm looking for a route a 10-day round trip from Rotterdam to Switzerland.
As much as I've been trying to search the library I've come up empty handed so far. Grateful if anyone can point me in the right direction please?
I'd like to take in the Grimsel / Susten / Gotthard passes as well as Stelvio & if there's time Grosglockner
Thanks for your help

@Carl-Taylor-0 Hi Carl, It is possible that you won't find an A to B route for the locations you meantion. However, what you cn do is lookin for routes nearby and make a combined route just for your needs.
This is a workaround for me which works good enough. I downlaod the routes and create my own route and have the downloaded routes "attached" as reference files s i can select the parts i need in my own route.

Thanks, appreciate it, I think I understand how the app works now

Hello Carl, you might be interested in this collection, which does 34 passes, including the ones you mention (except the GrossGlockner). The collection spans 10 days. Check it out, this collection I rode and put together in 2023, so fairly recent.

Hi Carl,
no offense, but maybe something you will not want to read: from your question I understand that you are not experienced in riding the Alps.
Please consider that the target points you mentioned all are more or less demanding. Some because of the track itself (especially Stelvio!) and all of them because in main season they will definetely be overcrowded with other motorcycles, bicycles, cars, motor homes, busses...
If you can, ride them early or late in season... and not without decent preparation aka training.
For your consideration and maybe help in planning your trip:
https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1wRIVqBxCOUcmLwVvuTIejBr5bh_r4pA&usp=sharingThat´s over 600 POI, mostly in the Alps, that I visited since 2018. You can search and see what´s else waiting for you in that area. It´s not a complete list, of everything, but I guess I´ve covered the most interesting parts.
Anyway, have a good and safe trip.
Regards from Austria,

Hello Andre, Thank you for the your reply. Yes you're absolutely right, I've never visited the Alps previously at all. I'm very much looking forward to the challenge. Perhaps I'm overthinking things, but wondering what alternative routes might be available. The one proposed by @Yarro-Moto has to be the frontrunner, but I would like to visit The Eagle's Nest, if time allows.
I'm 64 this May, had a bike since I was 17 so relatively experienced - if you would like to take a look at YouTube for the 'Applecross Pass' in Scotland, these hairpins havent presented a problem, though I'm aware Stelvio has quite a few more of them!
I acknowledge your comments about the number of bikes likely to be on the passes at that time of year, unfortunately though thats the only time I have available off work & conscious I'm not getting any younger, so I'll have to go with the flow!
regards Carl

@Carl-Taylor-0 I am 60 in this May and I am sure you will have a lot of fun during this trip
I would suggest this book

There is also a second part. It was very useful for me, you can set your trip along your expectations and skills.
