Automatic tracking in CarPlay

Forgive me if this has been asked before, but so far as Carplay goes, is there any way to record a tracklog from the CarPlay screen while "just riding". i.e. While not following a specific route?
I am a motorcyclist, but I suppose it would apply to car use as well.
It's a hassle to have to use the phone to start/stop recording a tracklog when it could easily be done from the CarPlay screen.

@Walter-Edmunds No, that option does not (yet) exist in this version. It might not even be possible due to the numerous restrictions Apple and Google have implemented for operating CarPlay and Android Auto. For now, you still need to click the record button on your phone to start the track log.

@Rob-Verhoeff Thanks, that's what I thought. Maybe MyRoute-app should have a setting independent of CarPlay to record a tracklog automatically or not when "just riding". I'm new to MyRoute-app, still playing around...
