Navigation issues with seasonal closures

I just got back from a 29 day trip across Canada and the US. Generally the app worked great. I did notice a minor issue where the countdown to a fuel station stopped at 400 ft and then stayed there until the route was restarted. If did if again later stopping at 600 ft.
The other issue I found most frustrating was the navigation treatment of seasonal closures. Twice I had issues and could not resolve them. I went back into the web planner and added more waypoints but again when I started navigation it routed me around seasonal closures. Nothing I did resolved the issue. The" Allowed roads: Seasonal closures" option is confusing. If its green does that mean seasonal closures are considered? If it's red does that mean seasonal closures are ignored? It didn't make any difference that I could see. When I started navigation it always went around the seasonally closed road. I finally just had to ignore the navigation instructions and drive the road. When I looked at the route today, it seems to route over the road with no problems.

I still don't understand the seasonal option. Does someone know how it works?

1.) it helps with the planning so that you can plan routes in the Alps in winter even though the pass is currently closed. (deactivated = takes the road)
2.) when navigating, it helps the navigation to take it into account or not (red = not taken into account)
Important: it is about fixed seasonal closures.
This has nothing to do with construction sites.

Seasonally closed roads are roads that can be closed due to scheduled closures. Indeed as @Hubert-Thoring said, roadworks are not included as those are not scheduled (well not in the same manner).
The app mentions allowed roads. So green = allowed, red = blocked.
Meaning that when you allow seasonally closed roads, it might be that the route will take a mountain that is closed at that point due to winter conditions.For that reason, it's disabled by default and you can enable it yourself.

@Corjan-Meijerink thank you. In my case the option didn't seem to make any difference. It would not navigate over the seasonally closed road.
@RetiredWingMan, it's an educated guess, but I think a "real" seasonal closure is often also introduced as a roadblock by the local governing body. It would be nice to know if the route still goes wrong if you disable traffic aware routing in the app settings (not in the route's road allowances).

@Hubert-Thoring I know about the skip option but it is only useful in the planning web. It does not work with the Navigator. My issue is not with the planning software but with the Navigator. The route was fine in the planner. The Navigator refused to use the road.

Hmm, can you point us to the exact road that it refuses to take?@Con-Hennekens it was basically waypoints 20 to 23. When I tried it the other day Navigator didn't have any issues with the road. Can't explain why. I didn't update the maps and I'm sure I was in offline mode.
