Hi, I had yesterday a strange thing. MRA wants me to drive off road even there is no way.

    Screenshot_20240709-132447.png

As you can see here, between the two arrows there is no way and not possible to drive.
    Why was this way calculated?

    Here the same area.

@Jörgen I guess you were using track navigation on a generated route? In that case, there probably is a road present in the map that was generated in (OSM) and HERE attempts to send you across that (but it does not exist, hence this weird behavior).

If this was a planned route however, please do share the route 🙂

@Corjan-Meijerink Yes, I used track navigation, I can not share it.

But there is definitely no road, even a footpath is impossible at this point.

This is the road (connection) on Google maps that MRA generated.

@Jörgen that would explain it 🙂
          But indeed an interesting example!

Okey!? So it is possible to make an off-road route with, for example, the OSM map or download it from the internet and load it as a track in MRA? Does that keep the route the same?

@CD130 No no, it is not possible.
This is just an error in route calculation. That sends me straight down the hill.

@Jörgen Oh, okay, too bad 😉 It is not yet entirely clear to me within MRA what exactly the difference is between using a route or a track for navigation.

Due to work on the road, I had to drive another route for a long time. MRA tried to send me to the next route point for a while, but soon I was navigated one point further and eventually even to the end point! So that didn't work for me. I'm curious how that goes with a track. I'm going to give that a try 🙂

Back to off-road navigation: I hope the support for off-road navigation comes soon. I really miss it within MRA

@Jörgen Thank you, I also found an explanation in the MRA manual. At Garmin, I never actually used the track to navigate, but I did turn it on in the background to see if I was still driving on the original route. Within MRA I'm going to give it a try. I'm curious how it works when I deviate from the original route a little longer.
