Move waypoint to black line or road if black line is off?
-
when tidying up waypoints prior to export (to a zumo XT) If the waypoint is off and the track line is not on the road, do i move the waypoint to the track or the road? ive seen tutorials say it needs to be on the black line.
which one is it?

@Philippe-Stevenson Can you show a screenshot?

Try to use HERE Maps (see pic).
On Both settings.

@Philippe-Stevenson what @Jörgen said AND make sure that your shaping points and waypoints are ON the track. If not your XT wil certainly mess up your route. Use a 1.2 gpx for the export and make sure that the calculation is off

@Philippe-Stevenson The black route line is always on the road used by the planning map. If you are planning on the HERE Planning map you might see that the black line is not on the road when you have any of the non HERE overlay maps open. Think of overlay maps as clear sheets laid over the top of the planning map, the black line of the planning map will always show through the overlay map.
Always position the bottom tip of the route point on the black line. -
@Jörgen ah, I didn't know there were two places to choose maps, i was selecting it from the layer menu.
i don't have the menu structure you have in your picture, but I found it under the page menu. Thanks for the help.

As said, for a Garmin device it is best to use HERE maps a routing maps, the layers are just to display other map views.
