New POI Functionality
-
I am having some difficulty withe the new POI functionality.
I search for a particular POI (eg fuel) and it displays on the map. However, when I leave and then subsequently come back to the route all of the selections have cleared. I think that this is why I am having difficulty displaying the POI in the app.
What am I doing wrong?

@P1LTS I did have the same issue, however, I did make my selection of the POI categories at the search tab of the POI feature a second time, went back to waypoints and this time my selection was recognized.

@Cookie-On-Tour Minr isnt working like that, once I leave the route and then return to it, all of the slections have cleared.
Im note sure what this means:-
Default account libraries
Even better!
Do you always want to show a certain POI library? Why not?Simply click the account icon to add them to your default POI set.
Any POI library within that group will be displayed at all times.***** -
@P1LTS oh you are right, when leaving the planner and return to the route the setting is lost. The selection is just stored for the session.
So, we are required to build a library or to add the POI single by single to the route planning
I wished default POIs would be visible all time too, when the POI category is chosen at the POI search tab. -
Correct, the searchable POI's (as mentioned the fuel stations) are searching on the fly and very resource intensive - therefore not able to be permanently selected.
As mentioned in the release, it only applies to your POI libraries
If you however want fuel POI's permanently displayed, it is quite easy to find a POI file to import for yourself

@Corjan-Meijerink it would be nice as said, if we could build our own POI library within the route planner itself instead of the need to go to Google MyMaps search for all the POIs and then export/import these. Beyond that, we would have to do that repeatedly when we want to make changes, add or remove POI from the library.

@Cookie-On-Tour At least there is something to wish for

@Corjan-Meijerink I have found that using the Google Maps overlay includes many POIs such as fuel, food etc. I would like to see the Google Maps Terrain overlay.
-
Can anybody recommend any good sources for POI data please (preferably free).
Thanks
-
@RetiredWingMan thank you for the hint with the Google Maps overlay!
-
@P1LTS Here you find a lot of POIs.
More then 7.000.000 POIs available.
At the end of the page, you can change the language.

@Jörgen thank you, I will take a look.
