Offline navigation as standard.

Just an idea. Maybe it improves stability.
Currently you need to select "offline navigation" manual. Why not make "offline navigation" with offline maps ofcourse, as standard and use the online services as backup and functions which are not supported by the offline navigation and maps.
In this situation you do not depend on your data connection. In the Netherlands data coverage is pretty good. But in countries like Germany it is not so good. I assume lost of data coverage can causes problems in the app. -
@M-Schrijver, There is an option for that in the settings. Making that default would cause the app to not work until you have downloaded maps. I don't think that's the most desirable method. Also the app will in that case not use any traffic and closed roads information.

I've seen quite a few posts here about navigation being interrupted together with internet connections and stability while navigation seems a key property of a navigation system.
In my opinion (not hindered by any actual knowledge of how Next functions) the navigation should by default use offline data and maps
whereby information from the online services (maps, traffic jams, accidents...) would enrich that offline data. When done like that navigation would continue also with an unstable internet connection.

@Drabslab, That's exactly how it works However with one small detail: In Online mode all calculation is done online (although navigation is done using offline maps if available. Only in offline mode all route calculation is done offline. The reason for this, probably lays in the incorporation of traffic data in online mode, but I am not sure. As far as I am concerned, it would great if calculation ALWAYS could be done if offline maps are available. Because I agree with you, that most unexpected behaviour points to the use of online services.
