Hello, first time user here. Let me tell you about my project. After researching many different motorcycles I decided on a 2024 Honda Transalp. I have owned several bikes in the past. I had a Yamaha Vision, a naked bike, a Harley Road King, a Honda Gold Wing and a Kawasaki Concours to name a few.
My plan is to buy the motorcycle in the states and fit it out with what I think I will need. So I bought the motorcycle from a friendly dealer in West Virginia. They gave me a great price and didn’t charge me for freight and set up. I trailered the bike home and put it in my garage. Now I had to research what parts and accessories I need. I searched the internet and found the taller Honda windshield in OHIO. The windshield arrived yesterday and after watching a video for installation I promptly installed it. 20 minutes is all it took. Before picking up the motorcycle from the dealer I called and had them install the center stand. Unfortunately many accessories were not available at the time I picked up my motorcycle.
In the mean time I ordered the tank guards, engine guards as well as the skid plate form Hopco & Becker.
They were also on back order. My next purchase will be the panniers and rear or top box. I’m leaning towards the GIVI.
I have a few more things to get together such as a tent, sleeping bag and things.
My goal is to ship my motorcycle to Iceland from the East coast of the United States. My target time frame May 2024. My plan is to tour Iceland for a couple weeks then take the ferry to the Faroe Islands. From there I would like to take the ferry to Norway and go the North Cape. After that I plan on going to Germany and find a nice small village to settle down in.
Call me crazy, that’s my plan. I would love to hear back from anyone with tips or advice or suggestions.
    Thank you Chris

@chris-duday Hi Chris, welcome to the forum. I would love to do a tour like that if I had the time (and finance of course) 😜
If you like wine make sure to settle in one of the amazing wine areas in Germany.
          Good luck with everything.

🙂 wow, that sounds like a great trip ahead.
Main question: will you record the trip and where can we follow you?

            Instagram, YouTube?

Since January 2024 I started recording some of my rides commuting and touring the R1200RT in The Netherlands:
