BMW Nav 6 issues and loading routes
-
Hello All
I`m a fairly new user I have a BMW Nav 6 and using a friends 190 mile route yesterday we had some road closures and i got the message up about off route recaall No or Auto appear not sure how to skip this
I actually reloaded the route but is this the only way as i have set this Garmin unit as described
Also when loading a route I've used Garmin GPX 1.1 to transfer to the unit as a track then ticked the box and converted to a route then opened as a route but there is only a start and finish on the route is this correct
Regards

If you convert a track to a route with a Nav XI (Garmin), you never may recalculate.
Turn off recalculate in the device.
A route converted from track only has a start and end point. After recalculation you get a route that goes directly to the end.
If you have to deviate from the planned route, it is best to drive back to the route with a view of the map -

With my Navigation V I always use the track as a visible line (black) while using the route to navigate. This way I see the route and the line of the track at the same time. If for some reason I have to deviate from the route, I can still see the (black) track-line and then I can easly drive to the nearest point of the track. Once on the track navigation of the route continues. You're back on the route. And of course, as mentioned above, switch the recalculation off.
P.S. I made a new Theme for the Navigator V and VI in which the route is wider and all different catagories of the roads are very good visible. Moreover, I increased the width of the track and changed the color of highways etc. Works very fine for me!

@David-Potter-1 Hi David, we have encountered the road closure problem which is a Garmin problem, not MRA. However, I use a Zumo 346 and it would seem that if there is a road closure anywhere on your route, it auto recalculates whether you want it to or not (regardless of what your traffic settings are). Then there is an option to revert, which doesn't quite put it back to the plan as the unit makes its own decisions but then it auto recalculates again. It doesn't seem to matter where the closure is, it just totally explodes your route and not even logically.
Maybe someone reading this could shed some light as Garmin Support cannot without an update.
