First CarPlay Test
-
I am fully aware that this is a beta version and does not yet have full functionality. Of course, my comments are not complaints, but only help to improve the quality of the bug-finding process.
This was a wired connection to the Car Radio.
Yes, connection was restarted by unplug/plug USB-C connector.I can only partially imagine how much work such programming means and how much time it actually takes. And even for two totally different operating systems
You are doing a great job. -

You are doing a great job.@Jörgen I totally understood it correctly and greatly appreciate the test feedback!
Thanks for answering the other questions!

Just for my understanding, the feedback (bug report) that the App gives after a crash will reach you for further bug-findings?

@Jörgen correct!

I had the following issues with CarPlay this morning, they could be setting that I could not find. Tested on a Honda 2017 Pilot:
1: CarPlay lost tracking route after GPS drifted off course. iPhone kept the track.
2: At my first waypoint I stopped and paused my route on iPhone. Upon resuming I had to restart the route, which then forced me to skip the waypoint. Before pausing it knew I had arrived.
3: No ability to zoom in/out
4: Note of the following icons were available through CarPlay, however displayed on navigation:- No next waypoint icon
- No start/pause/save icon
- No setting icon
- No MPH posted speed icon
I plan to use CarPlay on Harley with Boom Audio which is glove friendly. Will be testing once I get good weather.
-
Here is a short video to show the behavior in case of power interruption with the Elebest Carpaly display.
When restarting (repower), the loaded route on the mobile phone is deleted.
It is, of course, possible to reload the route. But if you are on the road and take a break halfway, you have to find the right entry point again, or have to delete all waypoint before.
I will see how this works in practice, the weather is terrible at the moment. -

@Corjan-Meijerink Sorry, I meant to add that some of these might still be in the works. I got a message there was a new feature on my iPhone. I didn't see the official announcement. I should have looked before posting.

@Bart-DM Yes, it is the C650.

First my compliments for the Apple Carplay implentation. The first impressions looks good.
Also, my appreciation for solving the car radio "off" problem.
My car radio now mutes out during spoken information. I'm glad this problem is solved now.The problem mentioned by Jörgen also occurred to me..
This morning I had to stop twice to reload the A to B route.Q1: I hope the A to B function will be implemented in Apple Carplay so I can start a route directly via Apple Carplay? Now I have to start a A to B Route on my iPhone.
Q2: Is it possible on Apple Carplay to show my speed and maximum speed like on my iPhone?
Q3: I hope for the future it is possible to start a A to B route driectly from Apple CarplayBesides this. Apple carplay shows me different information than shown on the iphone.

@Albert-van-den-Elsen Thanks for the compliments!
The answer to all your questions is: yes!
We will continue to add features to CarPlay over the upcoming updates. -
Hey.
