Using MyRoute-app Navigation Next module in Apple CarPlay on Goldwing Question
-
(My apology if this question has been asked before)
I am a fairly experienced user of the MyRoute-app (~8 yrs), usually exporting the gfx file over to run on my old Harley Boom Box and now on the Harley Skyline navigation system and my BMW R 1300 RT and the BMW app. It is working well for me.
I am considering getting a 2026 Honda Goldwing. From what I have seen on the Internet, the Honda RoadSync app on the Goldwing, when using an iPhone, prevents you from making and receiving both phone calls and text messages (not sure about playing music while using RoadSync).
Question 1: Is the normal thing to do is run the MyRoute-app Navigation Next module inside of Apple CarPlay to get turn by turn navigation?
Question 2: Does the Navigation Next module have features such as “delete next waypoint”, etc., easily accessible using handlebar controls?
Question 3: Would someone please point me to a YouTube video that demonstrates MyRoute-app navigation inside Apple CarPlay?

1: Long answer short: Yes.
2: Yes, you can skip the next waypoint via CarPlay by tapping the droplet icon on your CarPlay screen.
3: This is the MyRoute-app YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@Myrouteappforyou

I do not know anything about the Goldwing 2026. But the roadsync app has nothing to do on the Goldwing 2018-2020. The Goldwing has a total stand-alone media unit with Apple Carplay and Android Supported. I think for 2026 it is the same.
Phones calls, spoken messages, etc can be done inside Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The buttons on the left handle bar can be used to navigate through AA and ACP.
AA and ACP has some limitations built-in by design. Just to prevent fiddeling with the screen/app when riding. Google and Apple calls this security measures. And because of this, not everything you can do on your phonescreen is possible on AA and ACP. But this doesn't make MRA on AA/ACP useless.
I've riden for 4 years with the Goldwing. The screen itself is very bright with good colors. Because of that navigation maps are very good visible even bright sunlight.
It also very stable and fast. Lack of touchscreen is the only negative i can think of.
My current (cheap) RiderNav R7M is good but not as good as the Goldwings system. -
Thanks for the responses. A follow-up question: I understand the comment that ACP puts in the security features for safety’s sake. Can you delete the next waypoint on your MRA using the handlebar controls?

Yes. This possible in AA. I suppose it is the same in ACP.

Good to know. Thanks to all.
