Can you please make using offline maps better? The reason I use offline maps is because in the mountains I lose the phone signal at which point the navigation goes all weird. If I only use offline maps then I don’t get route violation checks and traffic information. Can we not have the best of both worlds, online functionality when available dropping back to offline navigation when the phone signal disappears. Then reconnect to online whenever it is available?

@Michael-Rhys That functionality is already available and works as you described. If your internet connection drops, offline navigation takes over. Once the connection is restored, MRA switches back to online. Unfortunately, I can't check it for you, but that's how it should work!

@Rob-Verhoeff you would like to think so. Unfortunately online mode is unusable here. I have raised a bug about it. When it drops the connection 2 things happen. Your location in respect to the route don’t align. I am shown driving through fields when I am actually on the map or the route in the map just disappears. You get an iPhone warning which takes up a large part of the screen telling you it is unable to activate mobile network press ok to continue which obviously you can’t with gloves on!

There are numerous makes of gloves that are smartphone compatible meaning you can work a touchscreen without taking them off.

@Andy-W agreed. But, the functionality shouldn’t require it and my iPhone won’t let me change anything without gloves when moving let alone with them!

@Michael-Rhys I’ll leave the glove part as it is. There are solutions for that. As for offline driving, it should work as you described. I can’t verify that. Maybe this translation is better. There are indeed several findings pointing in that direction. Now we just need the solution... 😉
