Add Sharp Corner Warning
-
As we are trying to migrate from Sygic, one of the major benefits of Sygic is its Sharp Corner Waring.
On our tours that has been of really valuable assistance.
To get an idea of your tours, and why we are very heavy SatNav users, see: https://www.youtube.com/user/bogclub7

@Eugene7 I believe this tip has already been mentioned on the forum: before encountering a section with sharp bends, place a waypoint with the text: Caution, sharp bends ahead from here. Highlight that waypoint in a distinctive color to draw attention to it. You even can set up in the audio-menu that the text will be spoken out.

@Rob-Verhoeff - Unfortunately, that is not not at all viable on a route that is a few 100 miles long, and consists of almost entirely wibbly roads...
-
@Eugene7 Is it really necessary to provide a pre-warning for every sharp turn? I find that quite annoying! However, if dev's can and will incorporate this into the platform, than with an option to disable it please

My personal comment.
What about your personal observation system with stereo lenses and a direkt link to your operation system, vulgo eyes and brain?Or the bikers rule: Donβt drive faster as your Guardian Angel can fly.
To be honest I use Nav Sat for route guiding, substitute maps on the knees and stops at petrol stations to ask for hidden destinations. Makes driving rearly easier.
But all these warnings for sharp corners, railway crossings, deer crossing, hey open your eyes and consider and accept the signs on the road.i agree

A good implementation, as with Sygic, enables the angle/sharpness of the corner to be defined to trigger a warning.
If you have never used Sygic, and experienced the warning you really have no idea just how good/useful it really can be.

The nice thing about 'options' is those that do not want to use them can disable them...
Not having them, just because some people do not like them, is not a good reason for not adding different capabilities.
For Le BOG Club, such a capability is really desired.

If you have never taken an advanced riding / driving course you really have no idea just how good/useful it really can be.
In other words, a satnav system is absolutely not a substitute for riding / driving skills.
In the UK for example, IAM and RoSPA both offer in-depth courses based around the Police Motorcycling Handbook - Roadcraft.
Both will offer you a taster for free, and the overall costs are around about a pair of tyres - for life-long skills.I thoroughly recommend both, and you'll learn more than just safe and swift cornering.

I suspect these kind warnings are responsibilty of Here and not MRA.
But i agree with @richtea999. If you really need these kinds of warnings to prevent something terrible will happen.
Then you need improve you driving skills first. If you are taught well ( i wasn't). You know that you need to look ahead to see what is coming and assess the situation and take action on it.
A navigation device can give some additional info but your eyes are the most important -
Nice discussion... I would not base my cornering speed on the absence of a warning. Therefore the presence of a warning is also not really useful. Look ahead is the best advice. Concerning the advice to take an advanced course: I'd rather drive at speeds that do not need advances skills. That's a lot safer...
