Tankstelle nach Suche in 1300km ?

Hallo,
ein guter Freund nutz MRA und wundert sich das er dort … in Spanien das als nächste Tankstelle ca. in 1300km angeboten bekommt.

@Hubert-Thoring ich denke mal in Spanien gibt es keine 'Tankstellen'! Die sind eher in Deutschland zu finden. Versuche es mit dem spanischen Wort für Tankstelle

Also mit „ Gasolineras“ kommt was passendes, mit „ Gasolinera“ nicht…

Ich finde es nicht ganz okay, dann werden die anderen „Such Icons“ ja auch nicht richtig arbeiten weil die App für den User auf „Deutsche Strache“ eingestellt ist.

@Hubert-Thoring and @Corjan-Meijerink I agree with Hubert. The search buttons should be language independent. At the moment they are just generic search terms in there language set and won't work when in a different country.
Probably not easy to fix but worth thinking about.

Ich habe mein iPhone auf Niederländisch, Englisch und Deutsch eingestellt. In allen Fällen wurden örtliche Tankstellen gefunden.

I have had my iPhone set to Dutch, English and German. In all cases, local gas stations were found.

@Jack-van-Tilburg I don't think it works that way. I'm in UK and if I type 'Tankstelle' into the search, the nearest petrol station MRA comes up with is 403 miles away in Germany!

@Jack-van-Tilburg I now set my system language to German on my mobile and pressed the petrol search button. As expected it now fills the search field with 'Tankstellen'. Unfortunately the search result is of no use to me as I'm in UK. You will see that every single search result has the word 'Tankstellen' in it. So I conclude that the search algorithm is just searching for entries containing the word Tankstellen'. So if there is a pub named Tankstellen somewhere in Germany it would show up as well

@Stephane-30 ja das scheint so, bei „Deutscher“ zum Test habe ich die Sprache, im System hier am iPad auf Spanisch umgestellt, da bei wurden mir über das Symbol der Zapfsäulen die Tankstellen in der Nähe wohl richtig gezeigt, s. Bild 1….

Mit Route und Suche nach eine Tankstelle dann also entlang der Route !

I doubt that. Because as I mentioned in my earlier post, I find local gas stations. Even if my iPhone is set to German.
And the results do not mention 'Tank units' anywhere.

@Corjan-Meijerink : Da es unklar ist wie das Thema Suche wirklich erfolgt da die Ergebnisse sehr unterschiedlich sind bitten wir, wenn dazu Zeit mal ist dazu die Ergebnisse zu verfolgen.

Fazit:

• Suche in einer MRA gestarteten Route die in einem anderen Land endet und dann dabei nach einer Tankstellen zu suchen ist wohl nach beliebiger Spracheinstellung unabhängig. Das Ergebnis sind Tankstellen nach der Route ab Standort, dazu s. das Bild 1 das ist ja so okay.

• Suche im MRA Startbild direkt ohne Route nach einer Tankstelle ergibt je nach Spracheinstellung ein Ergebnis hinter der Grenze des Landes dessen Sprache man am System eingestellt hat. Für Spanien dann s. Bild 2 das so nicht okay ist.

@Jack-van-Tilburg Frage: suchst du im Startbild der MRA nach Tankstellen „Deutsche Sprache „ oder wie genau ? oder ist dein System „Sprache auf Niederländisch“ eingestellt und du hast den Deutschen Text eingegeben ?

  Das scheine gleiche für eine Niederländischen Standort zu sein.

Das für einen Deutschen Standort Sprache in Niederländisch eingestellt geht aber nicht, auch hier wird eine weite Tankstelle in Niederland angeboten.

Das iPhone ist auf die deutsche Sprache eingestellt. Die App übernimmt dann die Systemsprache.
Dann nutze ich die Suchmaske und das verfügbare Tanksymbol.

@Hubert-Thoring , @Jack-van-Tilburg , @Corjan-Meijerink Well, this is getting really confusing now. For testing I set the system language of my mobile to Netherlands and then to Espanol and in both cases MRA kept the English interface and therefore 'petrol station' as the search term. Then I set system language to German and this time MRA followed by changing everything to German including 'Tankstellen'.
There seems to be a more complex problem. But as Hubert already said, the current search results are not really satisfactory.

I have set my iPhone to Spanish, English and German and in all cases the app adopts the system language.
As far as I'm concerned, I'll leave it at that and I think it's up to @Corjan-Meijerink and his team to find an explanation. Of course, I am always willing to share information if desired.

Interesting case. I wonder if the same (i)logic is in place for the "show nearest gas station" function while navigating. I know that it shows "tankstellen" correctly when I go to Germany, while my system language is of course Dutch.

It is certainly an interesting case and worth investigating. But with structure and in a way that ensures that the settings of the devices are the same during comparisons.

Oh yes! This is indeed an issue we only recently discovered.

In good news, has already been fixed All we need to do is deploy another update. It's indeed caused by a mismatch between the user language and a unexpected language based on the location.

Dutch and English (most testing scenarios) never caused any issues however not ruled out.
German sometimes gave issues, as displayed in this example.
Other languages caused more consistent issues
