Curvy roads and citycenters
-
Just a Tip&Trick for all users. Curvy roads is a splendid tool and does avoid highways and city centers. But if you happen to BE in a citycenter already (like I was today in Tilburg shopping at Louis) and want a nice route home, I think it is best to drive out of the city first. Today we had to endure a "curvy" city tour of more than 40 minutes, just to get out of Tilburg

@Con-Hennekens forgive my grinch-like smile on my face right now.

Haha

@StefanHummelink, I think I've seen one of those last Wednesday already

@Con-Hennekens And there's plenty more where they came from.

Give me a twisty route out of the city.
One of the funniest posts on the forum, ever.
I live in central London. I must try it one day.

I didn’t know Tilburg was that big

@Hans-van-de-Ven-MRA-Master, me neither!

It should be possible to create an algorithm to decide where to apply the curvy option over the course of a complete route.
For example: in urban areas (delimited by the speed limit (which should be available to the routing software I think) don't apply a curvy route
Combine that with a user setting on/off, and you can make users happy - even the weird ones that want curvy urban routes.
However it's probably not Corjan's top priority right now.
[EDIT: Having just tried planning a curvy route, a better option would be to make the setting. 'Avoid urban areas' when building curvy routes regardless of where you're starting from.]

Exactly. Therefore I made it a warning, not a feature request
