This is such a convoluted matter that it’s little wonder there is confusion! In my view, it shouldn’t be necessary to be discussing it at all, given that providing the ability to load routes onto devices to enable offline mode fully would be a complete cure… However… With both iPhone and iPad, in relation to @Con-Hennekens’ last post, what I have found is the opposite. I know it seems illogical (to put it mildly!) but, IN OFFLINE MODE, I am unable to return to a route UNLESS I DO CLOSE THE APP COMPLETELY BY STOPPING IT RUNNING IN THE BACKGROUND! If I don’t do this, I can’t return to navigation from the “route overview” screen - I just get endless buffering. My brain hurts.

@steve-lynch No, personally I only use the Garmin Drive App in an emergency when there is no PC available to use. I save all routes via the connector, and for multi-day trips, I save them as (gpx 1.1 (Route, Track, POI) on my PC and put it on my SD card on the XT. Note, you can save up to 10 routes at once on your PC, these will be saved as a .zip file. Just unzip and put it on your XT in the correct folder on your XT or SD card on your XT. Only the route and Track that I am going to drive are visible in "My Trips" and Tracks

@hans-van-de-ven-mra-master said in Suggestion: use folder structure to select route in apps for navigation and tracking: A folder structure is not allowed in AppleCarplay (as far as I know). Hmm, I guess they consider it a danger to be browsing through folders while driving? I also guess they are forgetting that scrolling through endless lists is maybe even more of a danger, and drivers usually do that BEFORE they are driving...

@nick-dawson Could your pal not send it to you, stating on the customs label that it is property being returned to you? This is a bona fide means of avoiding VAT and import duties which I have used to send stuff to family in Ireland (you might want to look into t’s & c’s though).

@nick-carthew 1: the charge point data in 'open charge map' is live, being updated to show which chargers are working and in some cases, if they are in use. 2: copying the charge point data is not a free option, a lot of work is involved and in some cases, the data is licenced by OCM for free; as a commercial product MRA would probably need to pay. 3: OCM as the name suggests is open and free to use - https://www.programmableweb.com/api/open-charge-map

@hans-van-de-ven-mra-master I just noticed something interesting. I copied and renamed the route where I still have problems deleting waypoints. With the copied route, deleting the waypoints works without any problems, with the original route the problem still exists.

I have the Tiger 900 Rally Pro and I love it to bits. If I had known how s*** the Triumph app was I wouldn’t have paid for the Bluetooth Module. You can do A to B Routes and you can plot Routes (iOS is limited to 20 waypoints I think) But the User Interface for adding those waypoint is horrendous. As @PAD-0 said the Triumph Connectivity App is indeed a closed system and the only thing that will resolve it is to give it the ability to import GPX Files which it currently can’t.

Your best bet is probably a car system that supports Apple CarPlay or Android Auto and use an app (like MRA Navigation obviously). I know some cars have built-in TomTom functionality, that would also work. But I agree with Nick: most car sat navs only do A to B and very few accept any kind of pre-made routes.

@Martin-P-Williams What device do you use for navigation? The reason I ask is because you were planning on the OpenStreetMap. If you use MRA Navigation, Garmin or any of it’s derivatives, then you should plan with the Here map. For TomTom devices obviously the TT map.

@Con-Hennekens Excellent! Thank you. While it would involve more tech when I’m seeking to use less and get more from what I do have, at least those ruggedised phones don't cost an arm and a leg. I’ll look into it.

Hi Max, could you give some details on which device etc. you're doing this? This might be depending on the browser setting on your PC/mobile phone etc. On my PC this is no issue- however just checked it on the mobile phone (Android + Chrome) and there the gpx file is stored in "Downloads" without asking, although browser settings are "ask where to store files = active" Cheers, Sven
