Hi, Ken here, new to MyRoute App and to the forum. I ride a Triumph Tiger 800 and like to tour Scotland when I can. I'm just past my mid sixties and retired.
I've done a few routes and exported them to my Garmin 390 via my PC. On the Garmin it shows straight lines and all my waypoints .As a track it follows the route correctly but no waypoints,is this normal? -
Welcome Ken!
Unfortunately that is indeed normal.
Route export actually only works well with the ZumoXT.
It is best to export the track and convert it in your device.
Disable recalculation. To see if you do not accidentally deviate from your route, it is best to make the original track visible on the screen. -
Welcome to the forum @Ken-Clarkson.

@Jack-van-Tilburg Sorry for the late reply, I recently exported a route to my zumo 390 and followed the track. It worked perfectly but it was strange having no waypoints. I didn't disable recalculation and it still worked.

That's right.
You let the Zumo create a route based on the track. This route contains no route points. If you deviate from that route, with recalculation enabled, the route will be recalculated and then go to the end point according to the Nav settings and not according to the track. -
@Ken-Clarkson I use a Zumo 390 and can export routes created in MRA to it with no problem whatsoever, including the route accurately following roads and with all waypoints intact, and have put them to use with complete success. In the Connector, be sure to select .gpx 1.0 as the file type, not .gpx 1.1. In my experience, using 1.1 files will result in those straight lines on the 390 - I think these are best left to the Zumo XT and, possibly (though I'm not certain) the 396 and 595 models.
I hope this helps. Please let us know how you get on
