This is incorrect. Unfortunately I had the tracking mode set to motorhome - could this be the cause of the incorrect distance?.

I exported it into Basecamp so that I could check the distance and re-import as a hike. Basecamp displayed the correct times quoted above in the summary and all of the logging points had the correct time stamp. It also displayed distance of 9.3km - which corresponds to the length of this well documented track.

When I imported back the tracklog with the correct mode - summary distance 7.26km start time 6.47 end 11.23 (i.e GMT).

Can someone please explain?

It appears to me to be a serious bug as the exported tracklog from the app contained all the correct logging points with the correct time stamp, enabling Basecamp to correctly display the log, time, distance and elevation - so it is not a problem with the app recording.

The track in Basecamp records 485m ascent and descent, which itself could be an estimation that does not use all the logging points, which I assume are used in the Basecamp distance calculation.
